Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Produce master
   • Select technique and process to achieve quality high polish finish for masters
   • Select materials, tools and equipment for task
   • Mark out materials and develop construction plan to meet specifications and stages of process
   • Prepare pattern materials and produce master
2. Determine job requirements
   • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
3. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
4. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
5. Identify job requirements from specifications, drawings, job sheets or work instructions
   • Select technique and process to achieve quality high polish finish for masters
6. Select materials, tools and equipment for task
7. Mark out materials and develop construction plan to meet specifications and stages of process
8. Prepare pattern materials and produce master
9. Finish and inspect work
   • Check item for compliance with specifications
10. Determine the action required when item does not comply with specifications and carry out the determined action
11. Record weights and measurements
12. Fit sprue material, as required
13. Apply final finish to meet specifications and store item
14. Evaluate master and compare to production sample
